An ancient wonder

Side is one of Turkey’s most famous archaeological sites, with important ruins dotted throughout town. The Temple of Apollo, overlooking the coastline, is awe-inspiring at sunset, so don’t forget to pack your camera. And the well-preserved amphitheatre takes you back 2,000 years, so make sure you wander around.

A lively beach scene

Side is known for its long, sandy beaches. The more popular West Beach is shallow and great for families, while the East Beach is quieter and has a more secluded feel. Both offer water sports like kayaking, jet-skiing and windsurfing. But there’s a chic marina to bar-hop along, too.
